The trash tower is a public art project about the problem of roadside litter. It will be sited in front of the elementary school in Newbury, MA. Next to the tower will be a signboard with information on how long it takes for different kinds of litter to decompose.

Each week I’ll collect the litter along a two mile circuit near my house, clean it, and place it in the trash tower. People can watch how the trash increases and debate how long it’ll take the tower to fill. The town will have a work of art—a sculpture that will be accessible, constantly changing, and beautiful.
